Ellie's Hope Totes
Ellie’s Hope Totes are an extension of Ellie’s Cart of Hope used by the Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Child Life Specialists to supply young patients with toys, games and therapy aids to make them more comfortable during their treatments. The Hope Totes project evolved from Matt and Ashleigh’s experiences and the helpless and unprepared feelings a parent gets when their child is in the emergency room.
A Hope Tote is a basic "Go Bag" that gets the family through the first few hours of an unexpected hospital stay or transfer. The goal is to let parents know they are not alone, and to take care of their immediate needs allowing them to fully focus on their child and the situation at hand.
Each reusable tote contains toiletries not readily available through the hospital, a notebook/pen,
snacks and a fleece blanket.
A $15 donation provides one fully stocked Hope Tote. Visit the Shop /Totes page to support the Hope Tote program.
